Blessed.

It's easy to get caught up in the details and hustle and bustle of the holidays...as a dear reader pointed out to me on my last post, self-imposed expectations can be worst thing, especially during the Christmas season.  As a new mom, juggling personal expectations and societal expectations can be overwhelming....

I unplugged this weekend and took a step back, snuggled my babe and looked all around - and I have decided to just live in the moment.  Truly take in and acknowledge all of our blessings this year.  Life is too short not to.

Being together to celebrate the holidays is truly the most important, and while I always knew it in my heart, my party-planning perfectionist side was getting the best of me.  So, I offered it up.  I went to Party City this weekend and picked out adorable gold plastic flatware and tumblers.  Pretty clear plastic plates that I will place on my gold chargers.  I'm keeping the decor simple and focusing on the Christmas tree.  No one will care if they are eating on plastic, and I don't have to take time away from my family polishing silver and steaming crystal.  What a relief....I am feeling more relaxed already!

We picked out our Christmas tree yesterday - in the rain - so no perfect photo opp with Stella picking out the tree.  I let it go!  I am still behind on getting gifts, planning our menu (and a much needed manicure for that matter,) but Stella is healthy, happy, and we have everything we need...each other.

Completely, totally, abundantly
 BLESSED.
xoxo

  2. I couldn't agree with you more friend! This is the most disorganized, chaotic holiday season I've had in a long time, but it will also be the BEST! Take time to snuggle that adorable little girl :-)

  4. So sweet, Mrs. Trish!! You said it beautifully!! My mom and I still say that Stella is the most beautiful little girl we've ever seen! I show her every instagram photo of Stella that pops up, and I can't tell you how much Mama and I rave over her darling little face :) Enjoy your Christmas season!
